K, so I'm a canadian 4h member and being such has given me the oppurtunity to go
on an exchange program to Japan for 7 weeks this summer! I leave this thursday
and am very excited. I will be learning how to speak japanese for the first part
of the exchange and the second part I will live in a smaller town and go to folk
festivals and such. I really want to make the most of this trip, so does anyone
have any suggestions of stuff I should do or look for? I stay in Tokyo for the
first part and in Kyushu for the second part.

FINALLY! *screams* Lots of people seem to not like dubbed versions of animes cuz
they say all the voice actors sound the same, but I rather like ones that they
did a GOOD job on WITHOUT crappy script writers, like the Inuyasha movies, FMA
and Rurouni Kenshin. Naruto was done horribly, but it'll be easier to find voice
actors for Bleach cuz the main characters are older. I'd like to see someone
with a voice like Richard Ian Cox for Renji and Paul Dobson for Byakuya, but I
have no idea what Ichigo would be in English!
I don't know any tutorials, but references will work just as well! Try searching
art sites like here or Deviantart to find some really nice pictures of wings,
then practice developing your own structure and feather design of them. The good
thing about drawing wings is that the guidelines aren't at all strict and you
can experiment a lot! I think that's part of why people are attracted to drawing
them.
I'm familiar with both, and I thought that the song "Gone" actually
sounded like Britney Spears' song on her latest album... the slow one with the
twinkly noises... but maybe I'm crazy.
I can see the relation though. There's a song on her CD called Beautiful
Disastor (really good!) that reminds me more of Utada Hikaru's voice more than
"Gone" does.
Okay, things seem to be getting a little harsh here.
It's just that contests that artists on the internet are usually more
specifically based, like they're based on a certain type of fanart or medium.
You realize that you could be getting images from all over the world, but you
might be disappointed at the entries because they might not fit the idea you
wanted.
And you have yet to answer the question: why? Why invest your personal money to
find good artists? Are you an art collector or a type of agent? Surely on other
sites such as deviantart or sheezyart have many good artists that could solve
whatever it is your looking for. You might be interested in opening it to a
community like one of those sites where there are far more people that would be
interested. You could start a group or club that completely surrounds holding
contests that give money as cash.
A note to everyone: Please keep things polite on the forums!
This sounds like a really good idea. Can you put up some more information, like
exactly why you're holding a contest with a rather high amount of cash prize
money O.o. I don't think I've seen anyone just show up like this! *glomp*
I have a lot of trouble maintaining my own characters, so I really like to draw
doujinshi, especially Inuyasha. I've done 1 single chaper doujinshi (a piece of
c**p) but I'm working on a new one now. I'm about a chapter and a half in of
possibly 5 or 6 chapters.
Otherwise, I've had manga ideas, like a girl who loses her memory and gets
involved in a long triangle (very marmalade boy), another about a guy who gets
sucked into the ocean floor during the millenium and enters a fantasy world,
another one about an island nearly wiped out by a hurricane but the few
survivors find out it was the cause of their ancient temple and join with a band
of warriors to recapture the destruction god, and my favorite one is about a
librarian named maria who follows a man who stole an old book from the library
to stumble into a world filled with fairies, elves, ghouls and demons (she
eventually joins with the boy who stole the book to save all the fairies, which
are being captured by the demons for a mysterious reason *gasp*).
So... yeah... If i had a more solid style of drawing I might draw an online
comic or something one day. Dunno if I'll ever be good enough to take it any
further.
I took art lessons froma professional painter, and she always had her television
on. When Sailor Moon came on, I sat down to watch it with her, and she told me
that the show was "anime" from Japan.
Fruits Basket Wallscroll, Calendar, a painting and prints, magazine cutouts,
used to have a stuffed pikachu, (greatest thing EVER! I'd buy another one if I
got a chance!) and a few other doodads lying around everywhere... mostly
drawings.
30 hours, then I ate a pizza and a half. That was for the 30-hour famine thing,
which raises money for lesser-developed countries and societies with famine.
After the first 10 hours or so, I didn't really want to eat anything. When I
finally did taste something again though... you can imagine it was hard to stop
(hence the pizza)

Another older AMV. I'm gathering clips to make a new one, but this one is one of my favorites. Enjoy.

With from DN Angel, or a Pikachu!
Othello. I just love the style and the constant and out-of-reality twists.
Lotsa Lotsa practice. I've been inking my pics for almost 3 years and I still suck at it!
Try buying some nice quality pens, like sakura micron 005 or 08
(my favorite kinds). They're only about $4.50 canadian.

Of what? Can u be more Specific?
okey-dokey! I'll get to work then can I email you my design(s) towards the end of the month?
Has the event happened already? I'd be interested if there's still time!
Fairly simple, the someone posts their own personality traits and the nexts poster names an Anime character than is the most like them!
Like this:
Stubborn, Perverse, Mean yet Smart and Nice towards my friends
Lina Inverse.
I'll go first:
Love my friends, mean to people who are arseholes, and love being outside.

Have you gotten many replies yet?
2 episodes of something inthe morning, then usually two when i get home or a movie. Haven't gone a day without watching it in months....
Rukia. I even have her hair!
i would laugh and laugh and probably go into hysterics!
*daydreams*

Thus, a journey began ^_^!

I might get a chance to do it, but it won't be colored. That okay?
Won't be ecchi either O_o.
